A 47th minute strike from Didier Drogba gave Ivory Coast a 1-0 win over Nigeria in the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations in Alexandria.
Latching onto a long pass from midfield that caught Nigeria defender Joseph Enakahire off guard, a composed Drogba ran with the ball into the penalty area and slotted the ball in between
the legs of Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
The Nigerians turned up the pressure on the Ivorians but stout defending ensured they were unable to secure the needed equaliser.
The Ivorians, who will be making their first appearance in the Nations Cup final since 1992, will face Egypt or Senegal in Friday`s final.
