Arsenal striker Kanu has dismissed reports that he is unhappy at Highbury and has vowed to fight for his first-team place next season.
The Nigerian forward, who started 13 League games last term, had been reported as saying that he would happily go back to Inter if he did not get his wish of first-team football.
"I deserve a place in the first team at Arsenal," he said. "One thing I`m sure of is that I will not want to sit on the bench like last season.
"Inter have been asking after me but nothing is concrete yet. I still have a
lot of admirers at Inter, particularly president [Massimo] Moratti, who is like a father to me."
However, in a statement Kanu said: "I do not know where these quotes have come from. They are untrue.
"I am happy at Arsenal and intend to fight for my place in the first team."
Meanwhile, Arsenal have appointed Patrick Vieira as vice-captain to Tony Adams. Vieira captained the Gunners in their 4-2 win at Norwich on Tuesday and manager Arsene Wenger hopes the Frenchman will now put his summer unrest behind him and commit his future to the club.
