Cameroon`s Mettomo joins Manchester City from St Etienne (29.09.2001)
SAINT-ETIENNE, France,
Cameroon international defender Lucien Mettomo has joined English first division side Manchester City from St. Etienne, the French side`s sports director Christian Lariepe confirmed here on Friday.
Mettomo, 24, who has been compared to former French international
defender Basile Boli, joins City for a fee of around $2.3 million after arriving at St. Etienne in 1994.
The duration of the contract has yet to be announced.
City manager Kevin Keegan said he was delighted with the aquisition of the utility player who was close to a move to Blackburn last season.
