Chelsea face a struggle to keep hold of utility star Geremi this summer with Middlesbrough poised to launch a bid to sign him.
The Cameroon international has spent the last four years at Stamford Bridge after joining from Spanish giants Real Madrid, but it looks as though a summer move is on the cards.
Ironically he first caught the eye of former boss Claudio Ranieri while he was on loan at the
RiversideStadium from Real in the 2002-2003 season and he could be on his way back to Teesside.
Geremi knows Boro boss Gareth Southgate well from his spell at the club and would cost around the £3 million mark, he also knows that a move to Middlesbrough would give him the chance to play regular first-team football again.
Sunderland, who are on the verge of promotion to the Premiership, are also said to be keen on a move.
