LONDON,
Arsenal FC striker and Nigerian international Kanu has warned England not to underestimate his national team.
The `Super Eagles`, as the Nigerian soccer team are known, were handed a draw that includes two-time world champions Argentina, and top European sides England and Sweden.
Kanu said: "It would be a mistake to write us off. It`s always like that when we go into a competition but always come out and qualify from the group.
"It will be difficult, we know that, and we will have to work
hard. But we believe that we are going to qualify.
"It all depends on your first game, and we have a very hard first game. But if we can get a good result against Argentina then I believe we can go through.
"Everyone has a chance to qualify. Nigeria can still have hope, because nobody is guaranteed the first place."
It is worth reminding the Nigeria`s Olympics triumph in 1996 when they beat Argentina in the final and the way they topped their 1998 World Cup group as proof of how they can upset the odds.
